Philippines | Part One

As most of you may know (from following my adventures on Instagram), I spent almost an entire month in the motherland, the Philippines. Coming into the new year, I had no idea that I would be flying to the Philippines to visit my family and distant relatives. It was just like my last big trip to Europe in 2013; a spontaneous decision, and last minute planned trip.

On April, my parents, sister and I finally made a trip to the Philippines to get a head start on summer! Philippines was everything I expected. Hot, humid, and a third-world country - that is so so beautiful. Everything about it reminded me a lot of Italy and Mexico. It was amazing to have visited relatives I have never met, family I have not seen in over a decade, and gorgeous places that I have never traveled to. We spent the first part of the trip in Manila, a majority of our time in my mom's hometown, and the last few days on the islands of Palawan (more photos to come).

Here are some of my favourite places and photos of my mom's hometown!
